Mark A. Dalla Valle focuses his practice on patent prosecution and counseling, primarily serving clients involved in the design, manufacture and sale of electronic devices, circuits and systems. He has written, filed and prosecuted hundreds of patents for the electrical and computer technology industry, including semiconductor fabrication and design, radio frequency circuits and systems, fiber optic signal processing, telecommunications circuits and systems, analog and digital circuits and systems, and computer hardware and software. He also provides patent validity and infringement opinions.
Mark started his practice in San Francisco where, as a partner first at a regional intellectual property firm and then a large international general practice firm, he helped both Silicon Valley start-ups and numerous technology pioneers develop, protect and manage their intellectual property rights. After relocating to Chicago and prior to joining Rosenbaum IP, Mark was a partner at two large general practice firms, where he continued working with his long-standing as well as new Silicon Valley high-tech clients. Prior to that, he was a practicing engineer for 10 years. That experience included eight years as a test engineer, design engineer and engineering manager at military defense contractor Hughes Aircraft Company, working in design and testing of secure spread spectrum military communications systems, and two years as a design engineer at commercial startup Telease Technology, handling design and testing of secure subscription television signal delivery systems for cable- and satellite-based applications.
Mark earned his B.S. in electrical engineering technology from DeVry Institute of Technology, his M.S. in electrical engineering with a concentration in communications theory from the University of Southern California, and his J.D. from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.
Mark is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and holds a Federal Communications Commission General Radiotelephone Operator License and an Amateur Radio Operator License.
